Accurate measurement is important, as it allows us to provide you with the correct width size right away, so you can head out in your new boots as soon as they arrive. If you’re a bit uncertain about where the widest part of your calf is, we recommend running your hand along the back of your calf and feeling the contours. You’ll quickly get a good idea of where to take the measurement. Or, ask a friend or family member to help you

We have developed a very handy 'tool' for this that you can use on our website. It's the Personal Fit Code. If you measure and enter your shoe size, calf circumference (in centimeters), and the circumference of your forefoot (in centimeters), your PERSONAL Fit Code will automatically appear. Click on "Shop" and you’ll see the complete selection of boots, ankle boots, sneakers, and shoes that will fit your legs (calves and feet).

We specialize in Long Boots, available in sizes from very narrow (XS) to very wide (XXXL). We also offer ankle boots and sneakers in various widths. We try to incorporate as many smart features in our boots as possible, making them fit even better. For example, we use elastic, laces, zippers, stretch leather, etc., to optimize the fit and closure. All boots come with a removable insole. Of course, you can replace it with your own insole, but if you need a little extra space in your boot, you can also remove the insole temporarily to make it easier to get your foot in. Two weeks later, if the boot has stretched a bit, you can put the insole back in.

When determining your calf width, it’s important to think about how you plan to wear the boots. If you want to wear them with a skirt and tights, you don’t need to add anything to your measured calf circumference. When wearing thick socks or knee-high stockings, you should add 1 cm to your calf circumference. However, if you plan to wear them with jeans, you should add 2 cm to your measured calf width. Don’t forget that leather is a natural material and will stretch slightly over time.

The unique JJ Footwear calf width system also means that the height of the instep, the width of the foot, and the circumference of the ankle change as the calf width changes. The larger the calf width, the larger the ankle, instep, entry, and forefoot. In short, the rounder the calf, the more space around the ankle. When you first wear your boots, they might feel a bit tight around the ankle, but don’t worry—leather is a natural material and will stretch a bit over time. Additionally, all our boots come with removable and replaceable insoles. If you find the fit, particularly on the instep (or getting in), a bit too tight, simply remove the insole temporarily, and after a few days, the boots will have "broken in." You can then easily put the insole back in for even better walking comfort.

We have various retailers in the Netherlands, so you can almost always see and try on JJ Footwear in person. Everywhere our boots are sold, we have carefully selected our retail partners, so you can fully trust the shopping experience. Through the website, you can order shoes, ankle boots, and boots from JJ Footwear, which you can then try on at a retail location. Only once you're completely convinced of the right model, in the right color, with the right size and fit, do you need to check out. This prevents disappointment, and you'll receive expert advice. We have a unique system that gives retailers access to our inventory program, provided they are our customer. Even when a retailer doesn't have the desired item in stock, it can be ordered from us, and we usually deliver it within 24 hours (on business days, if in stock).
